This evening, before I left work, I checked to see which group classes were being offered by my gym tonight. A weight training class and Vinyasa yoga, back to back? Why, don't mind if I do! At least, that's what I thought before I bundled up and stepped out into the below-freezing weather. Hmmm, I thought, this won't do. I began my commute and started to contemplate which excuse I was going to use tonight. Then, it dawned on me. Here I am, with my own blog, inspired by the blogs of others. Other people who often post workouts that can be completed from the comfort of my own bedroom. DUH! Why not check some of my favorite blogs, and see what they recommend?
I went over to Bloglovin' and read several blogs before I found a couple of workouts I wanted to take on this evening. It was hard to stay focused, as I remained in a slightly frozen state. Somehow, I ended up at Camo and Lipstick, which I immediately had to start following. She posted a challenge which asks you to perform a plank with shoulder taps for 60 seconds, counting how many taps you are able to get during that time.
I, being allergic to planks, had no idea what a plan with shoulder taps was. I'm not even going to attempt to demonstrate in any recorded form what I thought it meant. I feel stupid all over again just thinking about it. Anyway, here's a youtube video which pretty clearly demonstrates it:
Challenge accepted! Of course, I didn't really think this through...
You'd think I'd had enough after that, right? Wrong! Because I am a fool, and decided to spend even more time torturing myself!
This time, I checked out a post I missed earlier this week on Olive to Run. Cori has an amazing workout called the Out and Back Circuit Workout that absolutely
Now that I'm done torturing myself, I can say that I'm proud of myself for not blobbing out. I got to listen to some good jams while doing both workouts, and I can say, without hesitation, that I'm feeling the burn.
Want to get involved with my Workout Wednesdays? It doesn't matter if you're at home or out for a run.
