*I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Millennial Central for Kirin. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.* I've tried Kirin Ichiban beer before, but it's been quite some time since my last sip. Believe it or not, I really like beer! The Boyfriend began brewing his own beer around the beginning of the year, and I've learned a lot from him about the process and the complexity of flavors. That's part of the reason I jumped at the opportunity to try different Kirin Ichiban beers, while also trying out a Kirin-inspired healthy recipe by Candice Kumai. ...

Happy Friday! Since it's Friday, you know what that means: time to link up to the DC Trifecta Friday Five Link-Up, hosted by Eat, Pray, Run DC , You Signed Up for What?! , and Mar on the Run . This week challenged me to come up with five fitness goals. I have a ton of goals for myself for this year and the next. I believe it is important to always have a set of goals -- big or small -- that way you're always working to improve yourself. Narrowing this list down to just five goals was sort of tough, but it was a great exercise for me, especially as I begin to run more and train harder. Here are my five current fitness goals: ...

I'm so sad, you guys! Last week, on my way home from work, my fitbit unhooked from my pants, and fell out of my pocket. I didn't realize it until I got home, so it could really be anywhere between the Capitol and my house in Maryland. I was so sad when I realized this! I'm honestly not sure how it could have happened. I've hooked my fitbit inside my pant pockets plenty of times. How it unhooked and fell out is just mind boggling to me. I'd reached epic step levels that day, and hadn't even reached volleyball practice yet. I was so excited to hit the 15K step mark on a regular work day. That never happens for me! I know I won't be able to get my fitbit back, so what do I do next? ...

This is just one in a series on Flecks of Lex where I share workouts that target major muscle groups, and that can be done quickly with little to no equipment. Have some suggestions for Everything Burns workouts? Send me an email . Enjoy! Disclaimer: I am not a certified trainer, doctor, dietitian, or cat wrangler. For now, these exercises work for me, and I think they're worth sharing. Exercise at your own risk. Equipment needed: Stopwatch/Timer, Floor, Yoga Mat (Optional) ...

Happy Tax Day! Okay, I know it might not be so happy for everyone out there, but let's just play pretend for a moment. As I was having difficulty coming up with a post today, I decided that I would write about a topic that I'm asked about on a pretty consistent basis: What is the best sports bra for big boobs? (Sorry to not use the scientific term, but you know what I'm talking about.) ...

If you've been following me on social media , you know that I have been getting my run on. Like Donkey Kong. There are a couple of different apps I've been using to train while running. One of my favorites is Couch to 5K . It's great for people just starting to run, and is also good for interval training. This week, I've used it a couple of times to work on my speed and form. So what is Couch to 5K? ...

The Run This Year April Challenge has really kicked my butt into gear! The challenge for today was to create a seven-day running plan. I had never planned out runs before (aside from back in my coaching days), and I was really intimidated by the fact that I was going to have to factor running into my already packed schedule. It was a really great challenge, though, because it allowed me to think up some running goals. Obviously I want to be able to run faster, and for a longer amount of time, but the challenge was trying to map out how I was going to get there, and which steps I can take this week to move closer to those goals. I mean, you don't just wake up one day and say, gee. I think I'll run faster today. That takes time and effort! ...

This was quite an eventful week! The week kicked off April, as well as a week of pretty good weather here in the D.C. area. Hallelujah! Though, it was weird that the week started off with snow... This week, as with the last two weeks, I'm participating in the DC Trifecta Friday Five Link-Up, hosted by Eat, Pray, Run DC , You Signed Up for What?! , and Mar on the Run . This week's suggested topic was basically a freestyle. Post five things about whatever you want! For my five things, I decided to highlight five things I did this week. In doing so, I realized that I was actually able to do quite a bit in a week! ...

Last Sunday, I managed to completely embarrass myself at hot yoga. Not only was I sweating like some sort of beast, I was failing in so many poses. What was the deal? ...
