Take a look at the top of this site. See that little tab that says, "Thursday Throwdown?" What is that? WHAT IS IT?? Well, my lovely readers, it is a new Thursday linkup, hosted by Fit Balling Running Mom , Cardigan Sarah , and me !!!! That's right, people! Your Thursdays are about to become even more exciting! (And what good timing, right? Scandal and How To Get Away With Murder won't have new episodes next week...) First things first: What the heck is a linkup? Well, a linkup is an opportunity for folks to link up their blog posts on a particular topic. You'll see a little list of blog posts at the bottom of my posts that will all be related to the same or a similar topic, but everyone's will be different! I always have fun reading through different linkups to see different people's perspectives on various topics. Secondly, What is this THURSDAY THROWDOWN linkup all about? ...

If ever there was something you should be required to read before you start training for races, it is Build Your Running Body: A Total-Body Fitness Plan for All Distance Runners, from Milers to Ultramarathoners; Run Farther, Faster, and Injury-Free . ( affiliate link ) I found this book while surfing around Amazon one day, trying to figure out how I could become a better runner. It was pretty cheap (as of today's blog posting, the paperback version is just $14.29) and because I have Prime, it arrived very quickly! Now that I've finished the book, I can say: This book has essentially become my encyclopedia for running. It is packed with just over 400 pages worth of information, for both the novice runner, and the expert. It goes through everything, from nutrition, to what you should wear, to marathon training programs. It really is a great resource for runners! ...

JKLEJRMNVMDBJHWHJRKLERMWMR: That's how I would describe this week so far. It is only Monday, and I am exhausted . You know how you can get into a deep funk, and it can be hard to pull yourself out of it? That's where I am right now. I just want to get out of this funk, man! I'm worn out! Alright, so now that I got that off my chest, let me tell you what today's post is about. I decided that I wanted to try a new linkup, so here we are! Today, I'm joining The Weekly Chase Linkup, which is hosted by Mindy of The Road Runner Girl . The idea is to share your goals for the week, then check in next week to see how you did. ...

If you've been following me on Instagram or Twitter, you've noticed I've been on a rollllll with my yoga practice! I have fallen in love with the studio where I practice, and the free classes hosted by my job (taught by none other than Cardigan Sarah !) have just been a cherry on top! Speaking of a putting a cherry on top, the cherry on top of being a Sweat Pink Ambassador is that you get to not only be part of an amazing group of women, but you also get to try out some pretty sweet products too! Over the last month, I've been testing out the Willa Top by prAna . I chose the Willa Top because I looked at a bunch of reviews of different prAna tops, and this one was recommended for ladies with a fuller bust. After a pretty egregious wardrobe malfunction in one of my vinyasa classes -- thanks to a too-loose top and a not-so-supportive sports bra -- I decided that I needed to find a top that had enough support that I wasn't bustin' loose all over future c...

Happy Hump Day! Since I haven't posted any reviews or giveaways in a little while, I thought today would be as good a day as any to do both! As I mentioned yesterday, I'm ready to run , and ready to really kick my running season into high gear! I signed up for yet another race today, and I'm very much looking forward to running it with my family and friends. Last year, I ran The Wipeout Run. This year, it's called the Ridiculous Obstacle Course (ROC) Race, and I'll be running it with the DMV Superstars once again. Last year, I went as Lex Lightning . This year I might come up with a totally different made-up superhero. (You can sign up to join our team by registering here .) But enough about my upcoming races. Let me tell you all about this sweet running belt ! ...

I'm finally back, y'all! Every once in a while, I need to take some time away from blogging to focus more attention on an area of my life that might not be getting as much attention as it needs. Now that I'm back, I feel so much better, and ready to run in more ways than one! Since my last check in, a bunch has happened, but today I'm just going to focus on how I'm finally feeling ready to run! (If you follow me on social media, you've probably heard a bit more from me.) No, no. Don't worry! I definitely have not fallen off the fitness wagon since my trip to New York ! In fact, I've become just a tad more active! I've been doing yoga at Extend Yoga (on average) at least once a week, plus I've been practicing a little bit at home and at the free classes offered through work. Since it's been strangely warm outside, I managed to run a virtual 5k after my trip, and have played in a couple of volleyball tournaments over the last couple of wee...
