When I was going through my first Whole 30, I kept hearing about these things called RXBARs. I thought they were some type of herbal remedy or something (can you blame me?), but soon learned that I was wayyyyy wrong. I had never seen them, and every time I came across the name in my reading on the Whole 30, I grew more intrigued. One day, about halfway through my first Whole 30, I spotted them in a local organic market, and knew I had to see what all the fuss was about.
Oh. My. Lanta.
Those suckers are so good! Not only are they so good, but they're Paleo and Whole 30 friendly! Hooray for clean eating!
Fast forward to this past weekend, and here I was with a big box (a month's supply, really) of RXBARs in six flavors: Mixed Berry, Coconut Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Blueberry, Chocolate Chip, and Chocolate Sea Salt. I grabbed an assortment of a few flavors, and threw them in my jumbo backpack for my first time ever going backpacking.
As I learned, you want to pack as little and as light as possible when you're backpacking, and you also want to make sure you're getting enough nutrients. RXBARs contain 12 grams of protein, and are filled with simple ingredients. They're dense, which is perfect for when you need a delivery of good stuff quickly and efficiently.
They also come in a ton of delicious flavors. My favorite so far is Peanut Butter, but the Chocolate Sea Salt flavor is a close second. I mean, you can actually see the sea salt on it, which is just a double yummmm for my savory-loving self!
Now that I know the real deal about the RXBAR brand, and have personally reaped its benefits, the only thing left to do is to go out and buy some more! The exciting thing is that I no longer have to randomly find RXBARs around town: They're now available at The Vitamin Shoppe! There are a ton near me, including right next door to my favorite running store, so it will be super easy for me to restock!
Want to win a month's supply of RXBARs and a $50 gift certificate for The Vitamin Shoppe? Please fill out the Rafflecopter giveaway below for your chance to win! Remember: If you use a giveaway account, you ain't winning jack from me. If you don't know what a giveaway account is, that's a good thing, and it also means you have a greater chance of winning! :-)
Have you ever tried an RXBAR? If so, what's your favorite flavor? Where do you usually buy yours? When do you like to eat them? Besides eating them while backpacking and hiking, I love to eat them during volleyball tournaments!
