My September 2019 Goals

As you guys know, I love building goals in checklist form! This month, I’ve expanded my list to 10 things I would like to complete before the end of September. Make sure you’re following along with me on social media to see if I can check everything off the list before October 1!
  1. Go on at least two runs a week: One trail, and one long run (trail OR road) – My Ragnar Trail Wawayanda Lake race is coming up in just over a month. 😬 I don’t feel anywhere near ready, but when have I ever felt ready for a race? I need to ramp up my running as the race gets closer so I can feel a little less nervous. Want to know more about my thoughts on this race? Watch my IGTV video about it here. (Bonus: Save $100 on registration to any Ragnar Relay using the code FIT19. Note that this excludes Black Loop teams.)
  2. Try a new workout – This is a recurring goal for me. It’s pretty important for me to mix things up every once in a while because I can easily get bored. I’ve tried some pretty fun ones this month, so I can’t wait to try something else fun in the month of September!
  3. Complete the #BasicBowlNutrition Challenge – I love the idea of this challenge! I need to eat more protein and veggies, and this is a great way to get me thinking about it. Tomorrow we begin with protein as the main focus, and I’m wondering if I want to make a basic bowl for lunch or dinner! (I’m getting back to intermittent fasting this month as well.)
  4. Post two new IGTV videos – I’ve finally posted a couple of videos to my IGTV channel, but I’d like to post more to share more with all of you! I have a couple of ideas for videos, so stay tuned!
  5. Develop a new recipe – As I previously mentioned, I’m looking at ways to get more protein and green vegetables into my diet, and I want something quick and easy (and probably portable) that I can easily make the night before or the morning of, and that I can share with other people who may have similar needs. Stay tuned for my new recipe!
  6. Try a new restaurant – There are a bunch of new healthy spots popping up around me, and I want to try one out! The last new spot I tried out was Flower Child, and it was so good! I’d love to try out a new juice spot or restaurant this month.
  7. Try a new food item – This could be an ingredient for a recipe or a snack bar. I just want to eat something new this month!
  8. Incorporate strength training at least once a week – When I work with my trainer, I get my strength training in. Unfortunately, there have been a couple of times where he has had to reschedule, so I miss my strength training, and I don’t make up for it on my own. 😐 I need to get better at this!
  9. Run a race – I know this one sounds a little random, but I haven’t run a race in a few months. I would really like to find a local trail race so that I can get a sense of how a trail race even feels before I run this overnight relay next month!
What are some of your goals for this month? Any tips on trail running at night? I’m a gigantic baby and am absolutely terrified!
