It's been a long time since I last wrote about my experience with Grove Collaborative , so I thought it would be worthwhile to share with you my top five must-have items from this awesome company. There are a lot of things to love about Grove Collaborative and a ton of green cleaning products I now can't live without that I've discovered through Grove. ...

Week 2 of social distancing has had its challenges, but I learned a lot from Week 1 and set goals to manage my sanity moving forward. Week 1 was hard y'all, and learning that I would have to telework for at least another month sent a chill down my spine. I knew I had to change the way I was doing things, and so I have. On last week's episode of the Fit Black Queens Podcast, " Social Distancing ," we challenged each other to do something new this week. I made this my mission this week, and even downloaded a couple of apps and set up my bike trainer for this first time ever! Scroll down to learn what the other queens did differently this week. ...

Earlier this month, I completed my first 7-day armpit detox . Believe it or not, I learned a lot after doing this detox! Overall, I really enjoyed it. It's definitely not necessary before transitioning to natural deodorant, but as I shared in my previous post where I highlighted some of the research I found on the topic, it didn't hurt me to try it. In fact, I learned quite a few things while running this experiment on myself! I'm sharing 9 of those things in this post. ...

Today, I'm going to teach you all how to make Triflin' Tacos. Excuse, me, what tacos??? You read that right! I'm going to teach you how to make a super quick, easy, under 30-minute taco recipe, and you're going to love it! ...

It has been a few months since I was first introduced to Follain . I thought I was doing pretty well with natural skincare until I first found Follain's Restricted Ingredients list, and it really changed the way that I shop for beauty products. I haven't swapped out everything yet because, well, I don't want to waste it, and that stuff was not cheap! Nonetheless, I really am transitioning to using only natural beauty and skincare products. ...

Day 4 wasn't so bad. Admittedly, I did a ton of work on Day 4, but I managed to break it up with a trip to my office to pick up an extra monitor, a grocery store trip to restock on vegetables, and a nice, short run. The weather was pretty nice, the sun was shining, and it didn't feel quite as miserable. It's probably because I left the house. On days where I stay inside all day and don't get any fresh air, I feel absolute dread take over. Yes, I worked until my eyes got super heavy and I had to hit the hay at 11:00 p.m., but I wasn't upset about it. ...

:: In my Ice Cube voice :: Today was a good day. While I didn't do most of the things I planned to do today (my sincerest apologies, yesterday ), I did manage to get some serious cycling in - I biked just over 18 miles today! ...

It's Day 2 of our statewide quarantine, and I'm doing a little better with combating monotony. I got in a bit of exercise today, got some fresh air, and took a few work phone calls. Was my day exciting? Absolutely not. Was it more interesting than yesterday? Totally! ...

Today was the first day that I was required to telework and break from my regular routine. I'm such an extrovert, and I'm always on the go, so staying put in my apartment was not ideal. Nonetheless, I completely understand why! Most of my day was filled with me sitting at my laptop and working. I had an office conference call in the morning, but for the most part, my day was pretty uneventful. I suppose my greatest excitement came from trying to figure out if the gym where I was supposed to sub for indoor cycling this evening was going to hold classes. ...

Have you listened to the new podcast I'm co-hosting, the Fit Black Queens Podcast ? We interviewed The Philly Bra Lady on a recent episode , and she taught me so much about bra care, maintenance, and basic facts. I thought I was pretty knowledgeable, but it turns out I know nothing, Jon Snow. It was because of this interview that I decided to go for a bra fitting. It had been way too long since my last bra fitting. In fact, I don't even remember the last time I had it done! Was it less than 10 years ago? More than 10 years? I honestly can't remember, which is a big problem. According to the ladies at Soma Intimates , I should've had my last one last year. Whoops! ...

Ever since my last visit to Follain, and the eye-opening experience that brought with it, I have been trying to transition/phase out my makeup and skincare products with natural products and brands. Prior to my Follain experience - and ever since - I have dabbled with natural deodorants. The only brand I've found thus far that hasn't given me any allergic reactions was Tom's of Maine ( affiliate link ); however, I felt like that deodorant made me sweatier and stinkier than I cared to be. (It might have been the fragrances that they use that don't gel with my body, so to speak.) I've tried Schmidt's and Smarty Pits, and they gave me pretty bad rashes, turning my armpits black. Definitely not ideal! I have a couple of other brands I'm getting ready to try out, but I decided that I want to give this whole armpit detox thing a shot before I get too deep into this. ...
