My February started out so strong, yet ended so... blah. I feel mentally and physically exhausted, writing this, but I think a little evening goal-setting will help me feel a little better! How Did I Do in February? In a nutshell: Meh. To recap, my February 2021 goals were: Go on 4 hikes: I went on exactly one. In my defense, it's been pretty rainy and snowy, so most of the days I would've gone hiking were way too wet to do so. Further, I really don't like hiking in the mud because I'm already clumsy, so I don't need anything assisting me with getting injured! Finish a book: I've been reading a few at the same time, which of course means that I haven't finished any of them yet. Whoops. I really need to sit down and get through one of them jokers instead of trying to read everything at once!  Reset my nutrition: This is arguably the most important thing on the list, and I'm happy to say that I've actually checked it off the list! I've taken a mu...
I'm excited about getting to teach additional classes, but it just  hit me that I'm teaching 8 classes a week now! As I shared last week, I finally taught my first in-person (not with friends and family) yoga class, but I neglected to tell you everything else I'm teaching right now! I'll share the formats I'm teaching, and then I'll break down the days and times in case you want to join me for an in-person or virtual class. What I'm Teaching Indoor Cycling SPARK ( a US Fitness indoor cycling format - more below) Booty Burner Restorative Yoga Power Yoga When I'm Teaching Monday On Mondays, I teach a 45-minute SPARK class at the Sport & Health in Pike & Rose . I started teaching this class once our club reopened in the summer (we were shut down from about March-June 2020). We wear masks and practice social distancing, so we can only have 9 students in the classroom. Nonetheless, this is an enthusiastic group, and their energy keeps me going since...
On Sunday, I taught my very first in-person yoga class (that wasn't to my friends). I've been teaching yoga for longer than six months at this point, but I genuinely felt like I was teaching yoga for the first time ever . For the last several months, I have been teaching free yoga classes online on Sundays at 11 am ET; however, this Sunday kicked off my Power Yoga classes at the OneLife in Olney, Maryland . It's the same time, and it's still however I choose to sequence the class, but it's definitely a major difference from what I'm used to!...
February may be the shortest month of the year, but it's only because it's just so fabulous, it doesn't want to overdo it with those extra days! Okay, so I may be a little biased because my birthday is this week. I stand by my statement! January brought an interesting set of challenges, some of which I'm still dealing with in February, but I'm generally feeling optimistic.  Last month , I set 6 goals: Teach my first class on Recess - Done! I taught a restorative yoga class on Recess last month. It was great! Check out my goals for this month to see what else I have cooking on Recess. Create a class to share with of all you - I still have not checked this one off the list, but I'm determined to get there! Adding it back in for February. Hit the 75% mark on my yoga teacher training - I tried, but then I realized that I needed to focus on my HIIT & Flow Teacher Training. I did  advance in my training, but I haven't quite gotten to 75% yet. Make it halfway...
