Over the last few months, I have really gotten into walking challenges. I'd never done them before. I've done different weight loss challenges, water drinking challenges, step challenges, etc., but I'd never done a walking challenge before and I wasn't really sure if I would like it. It sounded a little boring to me if I'm being honest. But, I decided to try it anyway! I thought, What's the worst that can happen? I walk a little bit. That's not a big deal. Turns out, I love it. I love walking challenges! What is a walking challenge? A walking challenge Is basically where you decide you're going to walk a certain number of times a week, a certain amount of time, or maybe even a certain pace, and then… you do it. You walk! For my walking challenges, I've been using an app called Waybetter . (They also have a desktop version, so you don't have to download anything.) I like to use this app and I really like their platform. The app allows you to s...

Fabletics just keeps on winning and innovating! April brought with the new Yitty line - a collaboration with Lizzo - swimwear, a collaboration with Vanessa Hudges, and more. I had a chance to take a look through their April Lookbook, and I was excited to see different colors and prints! For April, I received the Amped 2-Piece Outfit, featuring the Define Ultra High-Waisted 7/8 Legging in the PowerHold material (my favorite), and the On-The-Go Medium-Impact Sports Bra, as well as the Baby Crop Tee - all courtesy of Fabletics . This outfit was part of the Vanessa Hudgens limited-edition collection. I made a quick TikTok to show the outfit here: @flecksoflex This month's @fabletics outfit is the Amped Outfit +the Baby Crop Tee from the @vanessahudgens Sun-Daze Collection. My favorite piece from this outfit is the pair of PowerHokd leggings (my favorite fabric for their leggings). Did you order #fabletics this month? #fableticspartner #myfabletics #moveinfabletics ♬ First Cla...

Whether in person or online, people often ask me what kind of running shoes they should get. My answer is always the same: Get fitted for running shoes! Feet are like snowflakes - each of them is different and they are different for every person. Further, your feet may change over time. So, what works for me may not work for you, and what works for you this year might not work for you three years down the road. When I first got fitted for a pair of running shoes, it was a totally new experience for me. I had never been fitted for running shoes before. In fact, I hadn't even really owned a pair of running shoes aside from the pair we were given for college volleyball. They said, “here are your volleyball shoes, here are your running shoes, here are your slides. Keep it moving!” (Or something like that…) Of course, that meant we all got the same of everything. I'm a firm believer that everybody needs shoes that fit their particular activity and that also fit their feet. For t...

This post is sponsored by BabbleBoxx . To help me start the year out on a high note, I received a great box of goodies from BabbleBoxx. I have enjoyed testing out these products, and have been using them pretty much daily. These products range from consumables to items that will help me stay productive throughout the workweek. What's in the Resolution Reset BabbleBoxx? I'm going to run through these items one by one and explain in further detail how I'm using each of them to help me advance in my health and wellness goals for 2022. Shaklee : Collagen-9 and Life Shake Soy Protein This BabbleBoxx includes both the Collagen-9 and the Life Shake Soy Protein . I love protein and collagen powders because they're so easy and convenient - great for someone who is constantly on the move! I've mentioned in the past that I have such a tough time consuming as much protein as I need, so products that are gluten-free, convenient, and can be taken as a complete meal are ide...

Just as I've done with my Things I'm Leaving Behind list, I am following my annual tradition of posting the things I'm bringing with me into the new year. Last year, I picked EMERGE as my intention/mantra/word for the year. This year, I picked EXCELSIOR . I think it's because I have been watching Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies for the last ten days, but it also seems fitting. It's the motto of New York (my home away from home), has a bit of a comical history with a sort of misunderstanding of what the word actually means, but has come, in modern times at least, to mean higher. Last year's list included being more creative, setting boundaries, using my new fitness certifications, and podcasting. While I did a pretty solid job tapping into each of those goals throughout 2021, this year's list looks a little different. Eating More Mindfully I've gotten a lot better about my nutrition over the last two years, but I know I can do even better! I...

As is tradition here on Flecks of Lex, I'm sharing the things I'm leaving behind in 2021. Last year, I said I was leaving behind five things: double-booking and overscheduling, clutter, dirty laundry, excuses to not exercise, and weak glutes and bad posture. I think I did a pretty good job with leaving those things behind - though I still have plenty of room for growth on the glute strength and posture improvement. Here are the five things I'm leaving behind in 2021: Hoarding Luxurious Experiences On New Year's Eve, I saw this tweet , and it was right on time! The best New Year's resolution I ever made was to start devouring all my nicest things, and save no small pleasure for an unspecified future. Now I burn the good candles, wear the expensive perfume at home, scribble imperfectly in pretty notebooks. You can't pin joy like a moth. — 🌹 Witch Cake 🌹 (@hollycassell) January 1, 2022 In the final days leading up to January 1, 2022, I was cleaning out my l...
